another shithole?
today marks the very first day in the new company. things was pretty fresh and good at first while waiting at the reception for my manager. the other lady brought me to my desk and then asked me wait at my seat cos' my manager was having a meeting. From where i was seated, i heard unpleasant words coming out from a guy's mouth. apparently he was scolding or well, i call that insulting another person. Things weren't as nice as i thought it would be and i shrugged with unease. I think that caught another coll's attention and she came over and say hi to me. pretty sweet, cos' she is just a year older than me. and she shares the same name as my mum. Soon i saw my manager appear from where the nasty lecturings came from. Behind her coming out of that room was a dark lean man who looks very much like sandy lam's husband. crap. that must be the big boss and the one who got "insulted" was my manager. Aww... how can a man be so harsh on a soft lady. MAN! from tt, i know this gonna be tough.
lunch was great cos' my coll. brought me out for lunch and i knew my "new friends" are very easy-going kind. we dint talk much but just chatted a lil', finding out more about one another. Culture here was very much the same as compared the to last co. i was in, just that we have our own personal cubicles to work now and er... i used to have two screens, but now i was only given one. well, we had a three hour meeting today cos' since they have found the last piece of the puzzle, the boss decided to announce a new solution to complete job in a simple and efficient way. Three hours and i knew nuts. almost fell asleep. the manager was very nice, she came over to check if i had any doubts after the meeting. After some clarifications on certain issues, she said she had to let me know that she has tendered her resignation. damn. I was like "WHAT? you said u joined only two weeks when u interviewed me and u said we can both learn together?!!" oohh holy shit.... what am i in to?
i was saddened for the fact that she is leaving when i come in.
awww... i'm now skeptical about this career path i choose to take.
